Sanford and Son? Or simply thrifty?

Note to self... cutting up semi-frozen chicken to make jerky treats for the dogs when it is roughly 6 degrees outside... well that might be slightly stupid!  Fingers are not loving life too much right now, but in the morning when I snuggle my boys after the come inside on a too cold morning and give them a treat that I know is healthy and not full of chemicals.  It will feel amazing!  They will know I love them, I will know that I have made a difference in the quality of their lives.

Tonight Hubby and I stopped at the grocery on our way home, needed the chicken for my boys, and a few random groceries.  Hubby was craving some chili to help him warm up on these cold days. I know I don't make it enough, but he loves it! I am fairly sure that I have written before that I am trying to focus on feeding him good healthy, home made foods.  I want to get back to basics.  Not making processed junk that possibly has more chemicals than foods.  I am still trying to figure out the chemicals necessary to make milk good for three weeks.  I actually can't think about that, it makes my brain hurt worse than it already does.

So my list involved the exterior of the store, I wish they had the bread flour that I was looking for, and I would have gone to another store, but I was pretty wiped out. So I bought another brand, not my favorite, but it will do for this grocery cycle. We bought a few junk items, we are not that enlightened yet, but very few items that had multiple  "non-recognizable as food ingredients." There are still a few processed frozen ingredients, I am struggling to balance a crazy work schedule with the life I want to live.

The shocking thing.  As we checked out, I was playing a game I always play in my head.  Guess the taxes. We live in a state that loves to tax everything, we have sin taxes if there is the slightest bit of sugar or flour in what you buy.  Usually I end up so angry, the taxes are usually at least $10 for a $100 shopping trip.  Today... less than $4 for $145.  Seriously?  Who would have thought? By slowing things down and doing them the way we used to... I am saving money?

All of these things appeal to me.

Tonight I was asked... Does your yard look like Sanford & Son. Well no, not always.  I do currently have windows waiting to become a green house back there.  And my freezer out back needs to be sanded and painted.  My garden beds are pretty sad right now, I didn't beat the weather to clear them out.

As I was thinking about that, I was thinking about what matters the most to me.  My family, my fur babies, my home, my gardens and my skills as a home maker.  Ironically the person that asked me, I have known since I first discovered that part of me that longs for a simpler time.  My Greek landlady inspired me in ways that defy words.

Those two years were very critical to who I have become.  The quiet act of living life, the peaceful afternoons, the fiery conversations over dinner followed by ouzo. The beauty of a garden, the power of the presses making olive oil, simple kitchen just outside the main living areas to keep the temperature more even inside for the family.

I can still remember the raised garden beds of the neighbors house. Pappas handing up carrots to my sister, he all dressed in his black priest garb, she too young to understand and being frightened.  I remember being encouraged to dry my own grapes for the first time.  The sweetness of those raisins is something I will never forget.  I will forever remember Mammas encouraging me to work on the needle point that I was so unskilled for, curious and shocked that a girl of such an advanced age did not know how to make a simple tapestry.  After all who heard of a girl over 10 that could not do basic needlework?

Maybe it does look a bit like that.  Maybe my boxes of supplies for the soaps I make, or fibers that will become a beautiful yarn for use in a piece of clothing... maybe those would seem the same.

I am really okay with it.  My yard will not have straight rows carefully mowed into it.  But when I am canning my harvest, sharing with friends and loved ones, I will never utter the words... I should have mowed more carefully, or made sure my flower beds (no I don't plant those, fyi) were more beautiful that any others.

My time and energy is finite.  I won't waste minutes on things that have no value.  I am a suburban country girl.  I wash my body with fine soaps that I have made, my wash cloths have been made with my own two hands.  I clothe those I love, and my quilts will wrap you warm as you drift to sleep.  My food that I have grown will nourish my family and my messes... well they are mine alone.

I am proud of me.  I am proud to be married to a man that can truly appreciate those eccentricities and nurtures them.  Maybe the long hair, long skirts or jeans and Birkenstock's should have given it all away... hmm... maybe... Thank the Lord he brought me a husband that cherishes those things, encourages and loves me smudges and all!

What a difference a day makes...

Enjoying the winter sunrise...
Just 24 hours ago I was sitting here sipping coffee, enjoying the lights on the tree that had been up far too long.

Now I am listening to cars racing past outside, sitting in my living room that has been "spring" cleaned.  Tree down, dusting done, room rearranged, although the ever present Neeko shred is on the freshly vacuumed rug. It's so quiet and different feeling.  Didn't realize how much that glow changed perspective.

Today I will haul more boxes downstairs and finish picking up the house.  I still have laundry to tackle, unless we opt out of wearing clothing for work this week. And frankly I am afraid that would not go over well. For anyone. So after doing the laundry that will mean more ironing.  I am not a fan of ironing, really I am not, I am less a fan of wrinkly clothing.

At the start of the day yesterday

Yesterday managed to allow time for the completion of a full sock, the last set took me a full month.  I have a basic pattern that I simply adore.  It is sweet, uncomplicated, with just enough stretch and give that it is a joy to wear.  This set is in Spring Fling and yet again it is not for me.  The upside of the KAL I joined is that I am getting a lot of socks knit, the downside is that I keep deciding they would make a great gift for someone else.

Before bedtime yesterday...
I am trying to use all the sock yarns that I have in the house before buying anymore.  I have a slight addiction to pretty yarns and will often buy them when they are on sale, whether I have time to use them or not.  I might, not saying I have, but I might have bought quite a few skeins more than I realized.  So far I believe I have enough for at least ten pairs, maybe more.  There are yellows, blues, roses, browns, cheery bold colorways, soft muted colorways, I still have a full skein each of the Vintage Rose and the Spring Fling.

I have several skeins of my favorite Happy Feet, that I bought for me almost two years ago and haven't found the time to use. This makes me feel insane, especially since I absolutely love the one pair that I already made, and will wear them even if they do not match my outfit of the day.

Before I cast on the next sock today, I have a small project to finish for my son, I want to get it in the mail today.  He'd requested something back at the beginning of the month, it needed modifications and with the chaos of the month, well that didn't happen yet.

I also have some mending to do.  It feels weird to say that, does anyone else "mend" things anymore?  I love the feeling of saving something, instead of trashing it.  I think it is one of the reasons that I love natural fibers so much.  They have the ability to be repaired, some of the others not so much, "fake" fibers shred.  I have some buttons to reattach - my dryer loves to eat them and then spits them up. Hubby has a couple of pairs of pants that he feels are a tad too long, so I would like to find time to get those hemmed.  And one of his work pants has developed an issue with a pocket.

I hate when you buy quality clothing, or at least it is advertised as quality and for what it costs it should last forever, and it fails.  It really makes me quite angry.

I have needed this weekend, it's been busy, my muscles are hurting badly (to the point that sleep is starting to not happen) but mentally... Mentally its been like a fine wine after a long day.  I feel a bit more centered, organized and like I can tackle the world.

I prefer slow living, that is how it feels to me.

I was sitting here working on that sock yesterday, pondering, because that is what I do when I knit. I was reflecting on conversations with people and things I have observed lately.  I am not a fan of the rush, rush, hurry, hurry, distracted world we live in.  Everyone is so "connected" that they have become disconnected.  Several times in the past week I have gotten frustrated with Hubby and others, because we are mid-conversation and they were checking their phones or computer.  Oh I am guilty too, I think most of us are. We are all so busy multitasking, that we are accomplishing less and are losing touch with actual people.

Everything is one stop shop, toss it out, no connection to anything.  Everything seems made to last a minute and be replaced.

I treasure my hand knit socks, the warmth, the softness, the beauty.  I have the first pair I made years ago.  I had not even gone to St. Louis to work yet when I made those.  So they are almost eight years old.  I wash them with care, I lay them flat to dry, I don't go running around outside without shoes on with those precious socks on my feet.  I use care, because they have value. They are simple socks, but to me they have value.

It seems that too much is losing value today.  I wonder if that is why people look at me strange when I say I need to mend things.  Why not just toss it and buy new?  I guess I simply am not made that way.  I want things that last.

Gator enjoying the simple things in life hanging out in my garden beds...

This year I am working on slowing down, I am working on giving my life and everything in it value. So I am going to keep knitting, mending, cooking, planting.  The extra work is worth the value that it gives my world. Sometimes I wonder if I am insane...

Unplug, sit back and hold on tight!

It has been the best two days!  Absolutely wonderful! Cool, crisp and clear, the remaining leaves turning and falling as they swirl in the breeze.  It's been the perfect start to six days off.  I have had time to slow down, take a long motorcycle ride up the Great River Road, and simply unplug.

This is the first time I have picked up my laptop today.  I didn't even check email this morning, unheard of for me.  God has truly blessed us with a mild fall, sunny and mostly warm.  So Hubby and I have grabbed every minute we can to ride.

Yesterday was a putter around the house kind of day, I finished the snowman hat, oh my goodness is that one absolutely precious! Made my boys a huge batch of chicken jerky treats. Did several loads of laundry.  And even found time to take a nap after having lunch with my sweet Hubby.

Frosty Hat
Then I started preparing for the next few days.  I am going to take an assortment of projects with me to Kansas City.  I cleaned up my spinning wheel, it's been sitting in the corner looking sad and forlorn.  After dusting all the spindles and oiling all the moving parts she is purring softly, ready to help me create soft beautiful yarns.  Then I set about gathering all the brilliant wool blend rovings and a few alpacas to take with me.  I am so excited to see what the next few days brings forth.

I have started gathering the yarns and needles I need for the drive.  I am working on some fingerless gloves.  I have orders for three and then I want to make a few for the next craft fair I am doing in December. I finished the first pair last night.  It felt so nice to have the smooth wood of my needles in my hands again.

The evening ended with some quality time with my son.  That was such a perfect way to wrap up the day. Although I was a bit stunned to discover my other three boys had not decided to leave me much room to climb into bed as the day had turned into late night.

Boy 1, Boy 2, Boy 3... no room for me...
This morning started out with thrifting and rummage sales with Hubby and friends.  I am not as big a fan as Hubby is, but every now and again there are real treasures to be found.  The first big rummage sale we were lucky to discover a set of brand new flannel sheets.  I love the feel of flannel as the days get colder.  I also managed to find some awesome baskets, these were free... oh the things that people throw away.
Can't wait to finish this up for Hubby!
After a quick stop home off we headed to Savers, gotta say I love that store!  We dropped off a donation before strolling through the store.  They give you a gift certificate when you donate, so that saved me 20%, Hubby being a veteran saved another 20% off that.  I was so thrilled to discover a partially finished lap quilt, it's the American Flag!  I am going to finish that up for Hubby to put in his man cave, whoever started it was quite skilled and it is so beautiful! I also found several yards of fabric to use for a couple of quilts I am working on for Christmas.  A few CD's and $12 later, and we were headed home.

I thought for certain that our day of 'savings' was over as we headed to drop our Escape off for an oil change and tire rotation.  Hubby remembered receiving a coupon in email so he grabbed that.  Wow, this lucky day did not want to end, it saved us a full 50% off auto work.

We ran into my baby sister and her hubby and visited for a bit (even saw another sisters ex-husband - it's been 10 years, we let it stay that way).  They both looked great and seemed so happy and relaxed.  I know things have been crazy for them for a while, and it was good to see them looking happy!

Hubby and I took off to chase the colors of fall.  And we found so many!  We followed the Great River Road and decided to explore Alton, Illinois this time.  Usually we simply pass by, today we made the right.  It is a beautiful , the hills are steep and the views are spectacular!

Here's a Hubby telling me his hair is a mess... snap quick!
After a bit of exploring we found a nice little spot to have a quick lunch, we will definitely head back to Mac's when we are in that area.  A bit more exploring, snapping pictures of the beautiful homes, the view from some of the highest overlooks in the city, suddenly we realized we'd managed to burn almost all of the sunshine for the day.

Home was about 45 minutes away and so was sunset.

We pulled up our leaf covered drive a few minutes before the sun dipped below the horizon.  Sure we should have finished cleaning up the house, packing for our trip, raking leaves and mowing the grass.  But we would have missed so many amazingly, wonderful memories... I'll take the memories any day. Life is simply too short!

Nail by Nail...

Ripping out the old porch
"Nail by nail and board by board, Daddy gave life to Momma's dream"... well maybe not a dream but definitely a want!  I know I said that I was going to be working on hats all day yesterday.  I know my goal was ten complete hats, I didn't quite get there.

Our front porch has had some serious issues for awhile now, but we work so much anymore that we haven't been home to get much accomplished during daylight hours.  We just kept pushing it off. Limited time for chores and unwinding, limited money to rebuild and neither of us being able to agree on our ultimate goal for the rebuild, led to complete immobility.  We knew it needed to be done, we were frozen in place.

That frozen attitude thawed rapidly the other day.  When one of the boards finally broke, luckily it was in the lowest level and just a slight give under the foot.  It was definitely a call to action. Over twenty years ago Hubby had placed AstroTurf from Busch stadium over the surface of the entire decking.  His mom had loved the idea and the stadium was tossing it as they were going back to real grass. Seemed like a win/win situation I am sure.

Fast forward to 2013 and the treated lumber had rotted so badly that it was a serious safety hazard.

Hubby and I are both strong believers in upcycling and repurposing.  I knew that we had the wood to repair the one broken board when I asked Hubby to fix it yesterday.  In my mind it was another win/win situation.  One broken board, Hubby having free time, and me needing some serious time to crochet.

I am guessing that I don't communicate well or maybe Hubby doesn't always read  between the lines.  Or maybe it was simply that age old communication issue between men and women.  You know both speaking the same language and neither completely understanding.

One board quickly lead to me helping install the whole lower landing.  Desperately crocheting a row or two in between holding boards for cutting and passing screws for assembling.  The whole time praying that the spots we were walking back and forth on would not give.  That they would stay solid and no legs would be broken in the midst of the initial repair.

Slowly it dawned on me that we were going to have to fix those boards at the top, they were simply a step or two away from total collapse themselves. Each step was confirming my greatest fears...

It was a beautiful day, our wonderful neighbors had said that we could have the treated lumber out by the trailer and if nothing else we could go right on top of the damaged stuff to get us through the winter and rebuild in the spring.

Our only fear was that the top rails were what was sunk into the ground. I had a lot of time to look at it while holding boards and helping Hubby by passing screws.  It wasn't connected, in fact it looked like it was added as an afterthought.

Next thing I know, Hubby is ripping up AstroTurf and we are praying the frame was intact, because the decking itself was destroyed.

Fast forward a few hours, with help from our ex-son-in-law and wood from the neighbors, we have most of a new font porch in.  And true to my upcycling heart it was all done with reclaimed supplies and a rebate card from Menards.  The frame was solid, all we needed was to replace the surface.  Today Hubby will rebuild the steps, and build the steps off the other side that he's simply wanted forever.  I no longer have to worry the postman or neighbors are going to fall through the deck and sue us. Not to mention that it looks so nice.  I didn't really share Mom's love of AstroTurf.  Total cost for new porch $5.37.  Yep, I am a happy girl!

I stayed up and crocheted until my fingers and brain couldn't go any longer. Chatting with my son and learning about the universe.  I didn't complete any hats, but I did get the base done for seven.  I will continue to work on them all today.  If I get to goal, I get to goal.  I am sure at some point Hubby is going to need help again today. And as he is working to make me happy, it isn't going to hurt me to push those other things aside and help him. Today I will  cut Hubby's hair, make soap, finish more hats and finally go to work long enough to teach my class.  I wasn't willing to skip that.

I love that Hubby will do the things that make me happy and allow me to feel secure.  I am sure he had other plans for the day, but he loves me enough to take care of what I need... What more can a girl ask for?

Amazing Autumn Days...

Ah mom... do you have to come to bed??
Monday morning sure found a way to creep in fast... It was a great weekend, with lots of quality time with hubby.  Hard to face today... I was gone for most of last week so I know that there will be a small mountain of  "to do" work on my desk. I am not looking forward to that.  It just seems a shame for such an amazing weekend to be over.

Last night as I went to bed, I was greeted by my sweet little old guy all curled up on Momma's side of the bed using my shirt for a pillow and covered in the quilt.  The look on his sweet little face pretty much summed up the weekend for me.  It looked like he was saying it can't be over yet.

The hubby and I went to StrangeFolk again yesterday.... The sunshine and soft breeze were beckoning us  to spend the day outside.  Soaking up the atmosphere, music and enjoying the people.  The fall leaves were changing all around us as we sat at the park bench enjoying the yummy Greek food, hubby managing to become good friends with everyone around us.  We were enjoying the pets and kids, the music was a bit questionable yesterday - but they were trying and it was free...

Our main reason for being there... I have a fiber addiction and it needed to be fed! I checked out a couple of booths that I had noticed on Saturday, but I knew where I was headed... How could I not?  I have developed a passion for roving from Yarn Geek Fibers.  The colors are always so tempting, the texture is soft and beautiful and honestly... it's just perfect! Mr. & Mrs. Yarn Geek do not overcharge, they are friendly and helpful.  They both know so much about their fibers and spinning that it is a complete pleasure to visit with them while I shop.

I am considering teaching a Drop Spindle class later this year at work.  If I do, I will definitely be calling them and ordering spindles and fiber for each person in the class. I didn't end up buying anything else from the rest of the festival, but I have several pairs of future socks and a few beautiful hats in the bag of treasures I brought home from Yarn Geek Fibers!
Sunshine, Hefeweise on Tap, Fiber and Hubby!!  A perfect day!!
After we wandered around and made sure there was nothing we'd missed from the day before we headed out to take care of the rest of our to do list.  Few groceries, printer fabric for quilts, and why not a quick stop at Savers.  You just never know what you are going to find there.

I have to say that is absolutely the most amazing store.  I simply love it! A few weeks ago we had found hubby a wonderful leather jacket for the motorcycle.  I was jealous as all get out... Not that he didn't deserve one, but because the cheapness in me wanted to find a deal like that for me.  I simply could not bring myself to want to spend hundreds of dollars on one for me.  So I didn't... I found a couple I liked that were on clearance and i was waiting for them to get down to a price I could live with, but not feeling too optimistic about it.  Yesterday the angels of thrift decided to give me a hand... we walked into Savers, glanced at a couple of things and then I headed over to check out their leather section.  Go figure a thrift store with a leather department.

They had a pretty good amount but none that would fit me, either too large or too small... and then I saw it... It isn't a "motorcycle" leather, but it is definitely leather.  I don't need a true biker jacket, I sit behind the solid wall of hubby.  Zippers are not going to be an issue for me.  Not only did it fit perfectly, is genuine leather, and warm... it was only, wait for it... $9.99.  I LOVE THAT STORE!!  For a whopping $16.34, I took home a nice leather jacket, enough yarn for two more hats and another head to display them on.

The day wrapped up with a couple of crispy cold German beers, the bright blue of an Autumn sky, a few more hats made, and another Thirty-one party with my cousins.  I guess you can't really complain that a weekend as wonderful and relaxing as that is ending.

I hate that I missed the wedding in Arkansas, and seeing all the family.  I would have enjoyed that.  But work is not prepared to wait this time...

Special coffee is waiting to be enjoyed with hubby... a couple more hats before work... I think it will be a good day!

Making Progress!

I am sitting here listening to a combination of the cicada's winding down (they have been really bad this year) and Kirk Cameron subbing for Glenn Beck.  Wow... that is pretty much all I can say about this man.  Hard to see the old sit com star behind the man he's become.

I have been working on hats all day long, seems God had a chat with Mother Nature and she arranged for lots of rain and thunderstorms.  I didn't have to feel guilty about needing to work on things for the craft show.  I was given a pass.

It's been a very productive day!  In fact it is scary how productive it has been.  My fingers are a bit tired, but my stress has gone down so much. Hubby sweet talked me into going out with him for lunch. I was hesitant... That three hour tour from yesterday kept popping into my mind.  But I decided I could throw my yarn and needles in my purse and head out.  Thanks to the rain I would be able to work on my projects between travels.

We had a great lunch, with lots of time to visit and chat, and decided to run to JoAnn's on the way home.  As we were heading over Hubby decided he needed to go into Savers.  He loves that store.  I do too... but I could hear the clock... tick, tick, tick...

He was so determined and willing to walk over in the rain just to browse.  It seemed so important to him that I couldn't tell him no.  That silly needle and yarn could wait.  It seemed important.  Whatever was drawing him there was strong!

I'm so glad we did! Hubby found a perfect leather motorcycle jacket.  His size, style and in almost new condition and at an eighth of the cost of the one almost identical that I had been looking at the day before! I would have been a happy camper if that was the only treasure we managed to find.  It seems destiny was on our side today, because as we were walking over to get in line, there on display were Styrofoam heads. I have been searching everywhere for those silly things.  I wanted them for my booth, as most of the stuff I will have at the craft fair will be beanies.  I have not been able to find them anywhere, and here I find six.  Well they had more, but the other two were simply too beat up to make me happy.

As it is well established that I am the queen of cheap, you can bet it made my penny pinching heart squeal with joy to get all of that for less than $65!  In fact I am still excited by it all! The beanies look so awesome on the heads and Hubby looks so handsome in his new leather jacket! Bring on the fall weather my baby will be toasty cruising around on the bike looking at the beautiful foliage.

My sweet grand baby called me a few times today.  Seems everyone was sleeping at her house and she was lonely.  I wish she lived closer, she wanted to come over, but it is too far for me to steal her for an hour or so now.  She asked what I was doing and I told her I was working on beanies... that I needed at least 100 before the craft show, she was so funny... She informed me no, I needed 101, as she wants one of them too!  Silly girl, Gramma will always have lots of hats for you, whatever makes you happy!

I feel okay now, I am up to 22 beanies.  I feel comfortable with my planning now... Thank you Lord for the rain, for the time to refocus, for the opportunity to listen Kirk's message.  It's been a great day!

Thrifting... Saturday morning with Hubby and friends...

Today dawned crisp and bright.  I know, crisp is not a word usually associated with the Midwest in mid-July. But it was... At 6:30 am when we left to go to the flea market with our friends, jeans and a sweater were almost the uniform of the day.  Brrr... OUTSTANDING!  I love those kind of mornings.  Not hot, not cold, just wonderful!

There is a flea market/garage sale(?)  I guess you would call it at a local food pantry once a month.  All the proceeds go towards stocking the pantry and you never know what you will find Usually, I simply find nothing to my liking or needs, although Hubby did find me an awesome crock pot for soap making a few months ago.  Hubby is the thrift shopper... he loves resales shops and garage sales, he is always searching for a lost treasure.

Me... not so much a shopper, if I need something I want to shop, find and buy.  You will never find me deliberately cruising the mall, although I might hang out in a fabric/yarn/fiber store for a bit... and I have been known to meander through a quality wood shop searching for the perfect bit of wood for a project. But flea markets and stuff don't hold the same fascination.

Ah, but Hubby... he is a tinkerer, always on the look out, he loves gadgets and electronics, he is a radio fanatic and watches... oh my...  today he found some things that were really awesome.

We only intended to go to the flea market, he was going to come home and make some biscuits (he makes really yummy biscuits).  The flea market ended up yielding 2 boxes of mason jars (beautiful ones with sunflowers on the sides), a beautiful plate rack for the wall, a large cotton fabric perfect to back a quilt (queen size even) and a needlework piece (so pretty... I think it will eventually become a pillow) all of that was a whopping $3... can you believe it?

Heading home we decided to stop at Denny's... we haven't had time to hang out with our friends in far too long, so we decided instead of wasting time cooking we would enjoy eating breakfast and visiting.

At some point hubby decided to hijack the day, he was on a mission.  Next stop was several yard sales, an hour or so in Savers, and a serious score on quilt fabric.  Hubby also found a beautiful candle holder.

By noon we had been thrifting for almost 5 solid hours, but hubby hadn't run out of steam yet... We found a few more yard sales, hubby found a garden wagon for me (well, it wasn't originally one, but it definitely is now) and since free is one of my favorite prices, I was happy!

Ultimately we ended up at Eckerts, I have mixed feelings about Eckerts.  I love the fresh, pick your own, etc... but Eckerts to me is a bit too "commercial". I prefer to support local so that part works for me, but I also prefer smaller.  That being said, for a change Eckerts wasn't over priced, and I picked up a bushel of peaches (cobbler tonight... yum,yum...) and I also got a few pints of fresh picked blackberries, I am making some blackberry jam, my personal favorite!

The cool weather and the rains have made for some tasty peaches, and I will probably have plenty to either freeze or can.  Maybe... spiced peach sauce or butter....

It is definitely going to be a bit busy of a weekend, I enjoyed my morning junking and hanging out with hubby, the quality time with our friends, and now simply relaxing in my living room.  In a bit I will go and slice those peaches, make my jam, and then I want to start on a quilt that I have been commissioned to make.  I am so excited about these things.

Tomorrow will be another busy one... Hubby and I are heading down to our country place, lots of mowing, cleaning and tidying to do, we've finally made a decision about what we are going to do with it...

How are you spending your weekend??

a quilt...

I decided I should sit down in a big comfy chair for a bit and stretch my fingers out before I started looking like the hunchback of Notre-D...
